چکیده

This paper proposes the concept and framework of digital watershed which is divided into three levels such as visual information platform, thematic application system and comprehensive decision-making support system. The construction of distributed hydrology model(DHM) based on digital watershed are discussed. It is shown that digital watershed makes it possible to construct DHM with the real meaning of “distributed on the whole scale of watershed”. Digital watershed not only provides a new way to acquire, manage and analyze the complex input parameters of DHM, but also improves the visualization of the hydrological processes and results. It can play the role of the basic platform for the construction of DHM and the management of watershed.

Simulation of the catchments hydrological processes in arid, semi-arid and semi-humid areas

Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...

Determining the Snow Coefficient in order to simulate the snow melting in the Shemshak Watershed Using the WetSpa Model

In mountainous regions, snow forms a part of the precipitation. Therefore, snow melting is an important process in hydrology and hydraulic in these areas that its role should be considered independently in runoff generation. The Shemshak watershed basin located in Tehran province was selected as the study area of this research to examine the efficiency of the WetSpa hydrologic model to simulate...

A spatial regularization approach to parameter estimation for a distributed watershed model

[1] Environmental models have become increasingly complex with greater attention being given to the spatially distributed representation of processes. Distributed models have large numbers of parameters to be specified, which is typically done either by recourse to a priori methods based on observable physical watershed characteristics, by calibration to watershed input-state-output data, or by...

Model of landslide hazard zonation and its effective factors using quantitative geomorphology (Case Study: Sanich region, Yazd)

Landslide can be considered as one of the important challenges of nature that affects natural areas and human societies. Several factors such as physical characteristics of the watershed, geology, soil structure, meteorology and hydrology are the most important environmental factors affecting in the landslide event. In order to reduce damage, landslide zoning have significant role in management...

A process-based diagnostic approach to model evaluation: Application to the NWS distributed hydrologic model

[1] Distributed hydrological models have the potential to provide improved streamflow forecasts along the entire channel network, while also simulating the spatial dynamics of evapotranspiration, soil moisture content, water quality, soil erosion, and land use change impacts. However, they are perceived as being difficult to parameterize and evaluate, thus translating into significant predictiv...
